The Long Road is a marvelous book about life in rural Iniana in the 1880's It is a nostalgic look back at a time when sleepy little hamlets like Little Pegeon Creek Valley held annual parades down narrow main streets. Reading The Long Road is as much fun as chewing on the long black stick of locorice candy.
